VOYAGE 35

Voyage 35 is the new project by long-time Porcupine Tree member Colin Edwin and touring guitarist John Wesley.

Voyage 35 aims to take the audience on a progressive psychedelic adventure performing music that has not been heard on a stage for over two decades. Epic, psychedelic and unashamedly progressive Voyage 35 will be adding an improvised flavour of their own.

BOLOGNA VIOLENTA

A project born in 2005 from an idea by Nicola Manzan, a musician from Treviso, who has since released six albums under this pseudonym, along with various EPs, split albums, and remixes. His music has always been characterized by extreme sounds and very short compositions, performed with electric guitar, strings, and electronic drums. Over the years, it has evolved, gradually replacing the guitars with only the violin. From 2015 onward, I started collaborating with Nicola, and Bologna Violenta has been a duo since then.

ULAN BATOR

Ulan Bator are a historic French experimental rock band, founded in Paris in 1993 by Amaury Cambuzat and Olivier Manchion. Known for a hybrid sound that blends krautrock, post-rock, and noise, the group has influenced the European alternative scene. Led by Cambuzat, they have collaborated with key figures such as Michael Gira (Swans) and Faust, maintaining a strong career both live and in the studio.

DOR

Dor is a musical project born in 2019. The first two self-produced works—a self-titled EP and the full-length The Dream in Which I Die—were written and released by its founder, Francesco Fioretti, as a one-man band between 2019 and 2020. It's characterized by influences from various genres, such as lo-fi rock, hauntology, and American anti-folk. I started playing guitar, synth, and additional vocals with them in 2023, then switched to drums in 2024 following a lineup change, allowing me to embark on a long tour across Italy to promote the debut album In Circle.

O.R.K.

O.R.k. is an international progressive, alternative, and art rock supergroup consisting of Australian bassist Colin Edwin, American drummer Pat Mastelotto, Italian singer LEF, and Italian guitarist Carmelo Pipitone. I was invited to join the band, replacing Mastelotto, just before the pandemic spread, forcing me to wait four long years until I finally met the guys and played on stage together for some shows.

THE BREAKBEAST

Project started at the beginning of 2020 and broke up in 2023: the lineup saw Sergio Pomante (Sudoku Killer, String Theory, ex-Ulan Bator) on tenor saxophone and effects, Alessandro Vagnoni on drums and Mario di Battista (Ulan Bator) on bass and vocals. The band's music is a mixture of influences ranging from funk to industrial, from jazz to post-punk, from hip hop to noise, from jungle to pop, from Afrobeat to punk.

DROVAG

A solo project influenced by artists such as Nate Wood, Deantoni Parks, and others. Drovag is a one-man band, with various instruments played simultaneously (drums, electronic percussion, synthesizers, vocals, and guitar) to create an original blend of Synth-Pop, Grooves, Trip-Hop, and New Wave.

RONIN

Started in 1999 by  the founder and main composer Bruno Dorella (Ovo, Bachi Da Pietra), this band suffered continuous line up changes, record by record. The one I was involved with (Bruto Minore) featured also Nicola Manzan on guitar/violin and Roberto Villa on bass/clarinet.

BUSHI

Bushi is the brainchild of Alessandro Vagnoni, here as guitarist and
composer-arranger-lyricist of all the songs. Born as a trio (Davide Scode on bass and vocals and Fabrizio Baioni on drums), Bushi has become a quartet for just the recording of the second album and for a promotional videoclip (Sergio Pomante on tenor sax). Although a third and final album is in the making, the project can be considered over.

DARK LUNACY

In 2009 Mike Lunacy offered to me and Daniele Galassi (both in the band Infernal Poetry) to join Dark Lunacy to record the new album Weaver Of Forgotten, after a split with all the founding members of the band. In almost six years of activity with DL, I released two studio albums, one Live DVD in Mexico City (2 out of 3 mixed by myself in my production studio) and played gigs around the world (Italy, Mexico, Russia, Ukraine and Japan).

INFERNAL POETRY

This is one of the most important musical journey I've ever experienced and I am deeply grateful for all the time spent creating music. The band broke up during the spring of 2014, after releasing important and well-received albums. I joined the band in 2004 and this change stimulated a constant stylistic evolution album by album, forging a personal and recognizable sound which was called Schizo-Metal by some music journalist.

RESURRECTURIS

I was called by Carlo Strappa to join the band in 2002 or so. Resurrecturis always represented to me, as a teenager, a very big deal and to be part of it was extremely gratifying amd honoring (the band was founded in 1990!). I started touring with them since 2005 in Europe. I recorded and released with this band two albums: Non Voglio Morire and Nazienda (which I also tracked and mixed in my studio). I will be grateful to Carlo forever for being part of Resurrecturis history.

EMPTY SET

EMPTY SET is a duo formed by me and by the musician and producer Enrico Tiberi (The Shell Collector, Nrec). The debut album was inspired by some episodes of the TV series The Twilight Zone and it's a modern form of progressive rock with psychedelic influences.

TSC live pic 1.jpg

THE SHELL COLLECTOR

This project gave Enrico Tiberi a platform to experiment with some of his best riffs and ideas combining Rock, Pop, Progressive ultimately resulting in a full band line-up in 2012 and touring Italy and the UK. I left the band in 2014 to concentrate myself on different musical projects such as Bologna Violenta. Cool music and very funny moments together.

cultoflilith.jpg

CULT OF LILITH (IS) - session

Cult of Lilith is an Icelandic technical/melodic death metal band formed in Reykjavík in 2015 by guitarist Daniel Þór Hannesson. Known for their "necromechanical baroque" style, they blend technical death metal with classical, prog, and flamenco influences, highlighted on their 2020 debut album Mara released via Metal Blade Records. I was asked to play drums in their Arkanum Ep, before joining Metal Blade Records.

hierophant.jpg

HIEROPHANT (ITA) - session

Hierophant is an Italian extreme metal band from Ravenna, formed between 2009 and 2010. Known for a nihilistic and brutal sound that blends black/sludge metal, crust, and death metal. They have established themselves in the European scene with releases such as Mass Grave (2016) and Death Siege (2022), for which I contributed by recording drums and percussion.

angry nation.jpg

ANGRY NATION (AUT) - session

The austrian guitarist and good friend Walter Oberhofer contacted me at first for drums preproductions and... he ended up asking me to produce, mix the albums and collaborate with the band as a live drummer (along with Wolfgang Suessenbeck, Jaroslav Lukac and Jacopo Rossi). Very funny moments spent together.

WOLFHEART (AUT)

& the malavita anti-social club (session)

A solo project of the austrian veteran 'deathster' Wolfgang Suessenbeck who wanted to expand musical horizons by asking contributions to a bunch of musicians with different musical backgrounds. I was involved in the drums and bass arrangements as well as putting the pieces together and mixing the debut double album. Sadly Wolf passed away in 2024, still I consider him a one of my greatest friends.

last union.jpg

LAST UNION (ITA) - session

I was called by Cristiano Tiberi and Elisa Scarpeccio to replace Uli Kusch (ex-Helloween) on drums for gigs around the globe. They wanted to start promoting their first album (with James LaBrie of Dream Theatre as guest on three songs) after it was reissued in 2019. It has been a very interesting experience although it lasted very few years.

darkside.jpg

DARKSIDE (AUT) - session

After some live gigs with an Austrian thrash metal band called Demolition and a failed collaboration, years later Wolfgang Suessenbeck (R.I.P.) asked me to help his band Darkside by recording drums and mixing their new record after a long hiatus. The result turned out really well, and we also played several shows across Eastern Europe between 2013 and 2015.
The band then split up again, and the double album *Inferno* is considered their final musical endeavour.
